Gushan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Jingjiang City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the north central part of Jingjiang City, the southeast of Taixing City, and the west of Rugao City. It respectively borders Jingcheng street, Xieqiao Town, and Jishi town of Jingjiang City. The town center is located at 32 ° 08 ′ N and 120 ° 19 ′ E. Historical evolution

In 1958, Gushan commune was established and United commune was established. In 1960, Gushan commune was merged into Jingcheng commune. In 1963, Gushan commune was reestablished. In 1983, Gushan commune was changed into Gushan Township and Tuanjie commune into Tuanjie Township. In 1986, Gushan township was withdrawn from the township and built into Gushan town. At the end of 2005, the former Tuanjie town and Gushan Town merged to establish a new Gushan Town, and the town government was stationed in the former Gushan town government.

History and culture

Origin of town name

Gushan town is named after Gushan, the only mountain in the central Jiangsu Plain. GUSHAN, known as "Yuanshan" in ancient times, belongs to the remaining veins of Huangshan Mountain in Jiangyin. Thousands of years ago, it was a towering reef on the surface of the Yangtze River. In the first year of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty, Gushan became a part of land.

Special festivals

Gushan Scenic Spot

GUSHAN is the earliest land in Jingjiang. It used to be an island on the sea. It was formed about 70-2.5 million years ago. GUSHAN, the same vein as Tianmu Mountain and Huangshan Mountain (Jiangyin), is the remaining vein of Tianmu Mountain and the only mountain in Northern Jiangsu Plain to the west of Langshan Mountain in Nantong and the south of Yuntai Mountain in Lianyungang. It is 55.6 meters above sea level, 1.5 kilometers in circumference and covers an area of about 5.8 hectares. From a distance, the forest is dense and the whole body is green. From the south slope of Gushan Mountain, you can see the following in order: wenyunfang, Guansheng Dadi temple, tushen temple, Shanmen, Sanmao Zhenjun temple, Xianrentai, Guanyin temple, chuimen, Dongyue palace, Bugu Pavilion and Wangjiang tower. Jingjiang martyrs cemetery is located at the West foot of Gushan Town, Jingjiang City, covering a total area of 107 mu, including 22 mu of Xishan commendation area, 24 mu of Dongshan nursery stock base and 64 mu of mountainous area. Xishan commendation area is composed of five parts: Square in front of the park, front hall, sight seeing Road, Monument and memorial hall.
