Shuiquan town
Shuiquan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Shanting District, Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province, is located in the north of Shanting District, connecting Pingyi County in the East, Xuzhuang town in the southeast, Shanting town in the south, Sangcun town in the southwest, Fengmao town in the West and Baiyan town in the northwest, with a total administrative area of 101.18 square kilometers.
In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the surname Lian was Li village, so it was named Shuiquan because of the spring water that didn't dry all the year round. From May 1950 to August 1953, it belonged to Xinzhuang District of Teng County. On November 21, 1983, Xinzhuang commune was assigned to Shanting District of Zaozhuang City. On March 31, 1984, it was changed from commune to Shuiquan Township, and then to Shuiquan town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Shui Quan town was 43744. As of June 2020, Shuiquan town has 34 administrative villages.
In 2016, Shuiquan town achieved GDP of 1.284 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%; investment in fixed assets of 972 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%; public budget revenue of 14.97 million yuan; and foreign trade import and export of 12 million US dollars. The per capita net income of farmers was 12830 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.95%. In 2018, there were 62 industrial enterprises in Shuiquan Town, including 9 above scale and 84 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the surname Lian established the village, so it was named Shuiquan because there was a spring that didn't dry all the year round.
In May 1950, it belonged to seven districts of Lushui county.
From May 1950 to August 1953, it belongs to Xinzhuang District of Tengxian county.
In 1958, Shangxing commune was established.
In 1959, it was renamed Xinzhuang commune.
In 1960, the commune organ moved to Shuiquan and changed its name to Shuiquan commune.
On November 21, 1983, Xinzhuang commune was assigned to Shanting District of Zaozhuang City.
On March 31, 1984, the commune was removed and Shuiquan township was changed to Shuiquan town.

Shuiquan town is located in a low mountain area with high terrain in the East and low terrain in the West. In the East, there are continuous peaks, crisscross gullies, and hills and plains in the West. The main mountains are jibaoshan and longyashan. Chaishan, the highest peak in the territory, is located in the north of the town government, with an altitude of 530.7 meters; the lowest peak is located at the intersection of xigucheng village and Chengtou Town, with an altitude of 135 meters.
hydrology
There are two main rivers in Shuiquan Town: one is a tributary of Chenghe, which originates from the mountains around Bangshan and flows from east to west. It flows through eight villages, namely xiaxinzhuang, huashiling, Shuiquan, xialongzhuang, Yuanzhuang, Shangyan, dongyicheng and xiyicheng. From xiyicheng, it flows into Shizigou village in Chengtou town and flows into Chenghe in the north. Within the territory, it flows 10 km into Shizigou River, which originates from shihuyu, xichaihu, xiqiaohu and xiyicheng Banshang, xiatuanshan and other 15 villages flow into Shizuizi reservoir in Xuzhuang Town, and then flow to hualiangzhuang in Sangcun Town, which is the birthplace of Guohe river. Both rivers belong to the canal system of Huaihe River Basin.
