Xingping town

Xingping Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Yangshuo County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the northeast of Yangshuo County, bordering grape Town, adjacent to welfare town and Yangshuo town in the south, and Chaotian Township, Lingchuan County in the north, with a total area of 313.77 square kilometers. In 1931, Xingping township was established. In October 1984, it was renamed Xingping town. In 2018, Xingping town completed 473 million yuan of fixed assets investment, 6.574 million yuan of organizational fiscal revenue, a year-on-year decrease of 1.1%, 34350 yuan of per capita disposable income of urban residents, a year-on-year increase of 8%, and 16670 yuan of per capita disposable income of farmers, a year-on-year increase of 10%.

On May 31, 2007, Xingping town was announced as the third batch of Chinese historical and cultural towns by the Ministry of construction and the State Administration of cultural relics of the people's Republic of China. On July 15, 2011, Xingping town was announced as the second batch of national characteristic landscape tourism towns by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development of the people's Republic of China and the National Tourism Administration of the people's Republic of China. On December 24, 2012, Xingping town was announced as a national ecological Township by the Ministry of environmental protection of the people's Republic of China.

History of construction

In 1931, Xingping township was established.

After liberation, from November 1949 to February 1950, it was still called Xingping township.

In February 1950, Dayuan Township and parts of Yangdi and Tianshun were merged into Xingping, which was called the second district.

From January 1956 to 1957, it was renamed Xingping district.

After December 1957, it was divided into four townships: Xingping, Jiangcun, Huashan and qiaotoupu.

In August 1958, Xingping people's commune was established.

In 1961, it was divided into four people's communes: Xingping, Jiangcun and Huashan qiaotoupu.

In July 1962, the commune was abolished and Xingping district was established.

In October 1968, it was renamed Xingping people's commune.

In October 1984, it was renamed Xingping town.

Xingping is a hilly town with high terrain in the East and low terrain in the West. The karst landform in the west of the town is on both sides of the Lijiang River. The highest peak is haopinglong, with an altitude of 1701 meters, which is the highest point in Yangshuo County.

The origin of place names

Since 265, the first year of Wu Ganlu in the period of the Three Kingdoms in Xingping Town, it is called Xiping County Government. The government is located in shizigu village, Xingping town. Major events

On November 30, 1921, Dr. Sun Yat Sen led more than 100 ships from Wuzhou to Guilin to establish the base camp of the northern expedition. When the boat arrived at the fishing village, Sun Yat Sen, Hu Hanmin and other people boarded the boat. Guided by the villager Zhao yuanjiong, they visited the fishing village and boarded the Tianshui village in Majishan. At that time, more than 30 people led by Zhao Yuanjie, a Juren of the former Qing Dynasty, defended the village and applauded after hearing the news.
