Shahai town
Sha Hai Town, a county in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, is located in the southwest of Jianping County, and is located on the southwest side of Qingfeng mountain town. It is adjacent to Toyama street, southwest and Lingyuan City, Wanyuan Town, and west border with Ningcheng County, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. North and Northwest are connected with three Mongolian townships, North connecting with small town, and the area is 277.39 square kilometers. Up to 2018, the registered residence population was 29255.
In 1930, it belonged to the Fourth District Office of Jianping County. On July 10, 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of the eighth District of Jianping County. In May 1986, Shahai township was transformed into a town. In 1999, baijiawa township was incorporated. As of June 2020, Shahai town has 14 administrative villages.

Historical evolution
In 1930, it belonged to the Fourth District Office of Jianping County.
During the period of the Japanese puppet regime, there were dongfengtai village office, 8 Jia and 50 tribes (meaning Village).

In 1946, the original district, village and government system was restored.
On July 7, 1947, Shahai district was under the leadership of Ye Baishou.

hydrology
Shahai River, the largest river in Shahai Town, originates from silonggou village of Shahai town. It flows into Tianyi town of Ningcheng county through Shahai, Xindian Village, nanwa village and Duzhen village, and then flows into Laoha river. The river is 24.8 km long, with a drainage area of 10.7 square kilometers. The average gradient of the river course is 4.1 ‰. In dry season, there is clear water to the south of Xinsheng in Xindian Village, and the downstream riverbed is dry.

The main natural disasters in Shahai town are drought, hail, flood, wind, insect and frost. In 1958, the summer drought lasted for 100 days (the beginning of September was drenched with rain), the leaves of corn were all dry, and the leaves of soybean were fallen. The affected area accounted for 72.9% of the sown area. Hail mostly occurs in May to July, accounting for 79% of the annual hail days. The earliest hail occurs in April, and the most frequent hail occurs at the end of October. In June 1953, the farmland in the town was hit by hail. On June 16 and 17, 1967, the farmland of baijiawa and Shahai was affected by the disaster. 11332 mu of farmland was washed by water, 1227 mu of foundation was destroyed, 10 houses collapsed, and one person died and injured each. In August 1955, the sand sea was seriously damaged by insects, the depression was even more serious, and the millet was basically eaten up.
