Washixia town
Washixia Town, subordinate to Ruoqiang County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the northwest of Ruoqiang County, adjacent to wutamu Township in the East, north slope of Altun Mountain in the south, Qiemo County in the west, and Yuli County in the north. It is 80 kilometers away from Ruoqiang County, with a total area of 24100 square kilometers.
In 1944, washixia township was established; in 2012, washixia township was changed from township to town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 6288. In 2019, washixia town governs one community and five administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 4 industrial enterprises and 32 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in washixia town.
History of construction
In the Han, Tang, song and Yuan Dynasties, the area around washixia was an important part of the southern route of the silk road. It flourished for a period of time. In the Ming Dynasty, it was gradually abandoned and the ancient city was buried by wind and sand.
In 1871, washixia was redeveloped.
In 1944, washixia township was established.
