Jinshan Town, located in the middle of Yunnan Province, is the political, economic and cultural center of Lufeng County. It is 92 km away from Kunming and 83 km away from Chuxiong. National Highway 320 and Chengdu Kunming Railway run across the territory. Jinshan Town was formed by the merger of Jinshan Town and yaozhan Township in 2006. It is located in the middle of Lufeng County, 92 km east of Kunming, the provincial capital, and 83 km west of Chuxiong, the state capital. National Highway 320 and Chengdu Kunming Railway run through the whole area. It is the seat of Lufeng County and the political, economic and cultural center of the county. It is known as "the thoroughfare of Jiuzhou and the post station of western province". It is the excavation site of dinosaur fossils and Lama ancient ape fossils. Jinshan Town is a typical inland mountainous town, with high terrain from east to west, low terrain from north to south, and uplift in the middle. The river and its drainage area belong to the tributary of Xingxiu river of Honghe River system, the confluence of Nanhe River, Donghe River, Xihe River and Xiangshui River, the water supply pipeline of Donghe River, Shimen Industrial Park, the water supply pipeline from Zhongcun to urban area, the water supply pipeline from Donghe River to Dinosaur mountain, Xingsu River and its tributaries. The annual rainfall is 930 mm, the annual frost free period is 322 days, and the annual sunshine is more than 2000 hours. The annual average temperature is 16.2 ℃. It is a subtropical monsoon climate with mild climate, abundant rainfall and abundant water resources. the administrative area is 419.2 square kilometers. The Xingli reservoir capacity of the whole town is 14.65 million cubic meters, and the degree of water conservancy reaches 65%. The town governs 8 communities including Nanmen, Ximen, Beimen, Huimin Road, Guanchang, Donghu village, guanwa and Xinhe, and 15 administrative villages including Xiaojie, tuoluodian, Hekou, Kejia, Beichang, Dawa, Hengshan, songjiapo, Nanxiong, Lujia village, Yangjiazhuang, lianxiangguan, Zhongtun, xiaopuzi and Nanchong, with a total of 225 natural villages and 411 Village (residential) groups. Resources and environment
It is rich in mineral resources, mainly copper, iron, silica, limestone, clay and so on; geothermal resources are mainly distributed in shihuiba, Nanchong and other places. There are many kinds of wild animal and plant resources, mainly including forest resources such as Pinus yunnanensis, Pinus armandii, Pinus tabulaeformis and Castanopsis kawakamii, Chinese herbal medicines such as Aconitum kusnezoffii, Poria cocos and Paris polyphylla, and wild animal resources such as macaque, pangolin and Caragana leucocephala. Paleontological resources such as Lufeng ancient ape and Dawa dinosaur fossils in shihuiba have high scientific research value and are well-known at home and abroad.
