Jinshan Town, subordinate to Dazu District of Chongqing, is located in the east of Dazu District, adjacent to Wangu town in the East, Shiwan Town in the south, Shima town in the west, Huilong town and Zhifeng town in the north, with a total area of 34.91 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Jinshan Town was divided into fuyuanli and yufengli; in December 1993, it was changed from Jinshan Township to Jinshan Town. History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, Jinshan Town was divided into fuyuanli and yufengli. In the second year of Xuantong (1910) of the Qing Dynasty, Dabao township was set up by Wangu town.
In 1912, Shimen township was built by Dabao township.
In August 1958, Dabao township was transformed into Dabao commune.
In 1983, Dabao commune changed its name to Jinshan commune because it had the same name as another commune in Chongqing.
In September 1984, Jinshan commune was changed into Jinshan Township.
In December 1993, it was changed from Jinshan Township to Jinshan Town.
