Shuanglong Town, subordinate to Yunyang County of Chongqing, is located in the northwest of Yunyang County, adjacent to Luyang town in the East, quma town in the south, Jinfeng town in the West and Beiqiao town in the north. It is 47 kilometers away from the residence of Yunyang County Government, with a total area of 76.38 square kilometers.
During the Ming Dynasty, Shuanglong town was divided into gaoyangli and luyangli in Anyi township; in September 2009, Shuanglong township was changed into Shuanglong town. By the end of 2018, the population of Shuanglong town registered residence was 40862. As of June 2020, Shuanglong town has two communities and seven administrative villages, and the people's Government of Shuanglong town is located in Shuanghe community.
Shuanglong town's food crops are mainly rice and wheat; animal husbandry is mainly raising pigs and goats; citrus and peanut are characteristic leading industries. In 2018, Shuanglong town had 38 industrial enterprises and 12 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Ming Dynasty, the territory belonged to gaoyangli and luyangli in Anyi township.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the territory belonged to Baiyan Xiajia in Baiyan Township and Luyang Xiajia in Luyang township.
In July 1953, Baiyan township was divided into 6 townships: quma, Huilong, Longdong, Jinfeng, Shuanghe and Yulong.
In June 1955, Shuanghe Township, Yulong Township and Jinfeng Township were merged into Shuanghe township. In July 1958, Shuanghe township was transformed into Shuanghe commune.
In May 1961, Wenlong commune was established from Luyang commune.
In May 1981, Shuanghe was changed into Shuangshui commune.
In March 1984, Shuangshui commune was transformed into Shuangshui township.
In September 1992, Shuangshui Township and quma Township merged to build quma town; Wenlong Township and Luyang Township merged to build Luyang town.
In October 1995, Shuangshui township was established in quma town.
In December 1998, Wenlong township was established from Luyang town.
In October 2006, Shuangshui Township and Wenlong Township were merged into Shuanglong township.
In September 2009, Shuanglong township was changed from township to town.
