In 1381, Shuanglong town belonged to longshili.
In October 1950, Changshou District 5 was set up.
In 1952, Huilong township of Fuling county was incorporated into the Fifth District.

In December 1993, Shuanglong district was changed into Shuanglong Town, and Luoshan township was merged into Shuanglong town.
