Mucun town is located 5 kilometers west of Liulin County, Luliang City, Shanxi Province, on the North Bank of Sanchuan. With a total area of 35.82 square kilometers and a population of 31698 (2017), the town has jurisdiction over 18 villagers' committees, 18 natural villages and 107 villagers' groups, with a cultivated area of 24337.1 Mu and a total population of nearly 20000. There is an ancient tomb of Han Dynasty and a pagoda tree of Tang Dynasty outside Yangjiaping village, and there are Neolithic cultural sites in the South platform of the village. the residential areas are distributed along the Sanchuan River in a belt, and the main street is parallel to Taisui highway and Sanchuan River in an east-west direction. The terrain is flat with good irrigation conditions, and the cultivated land is 1707.8 mu. There are more than 200 individual enterprises engaged in industrial and commercial trade.
