Xiaoyi town
Xiaoyi town belongs to Linwei District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the northeast of Linwei District, it connects Fanjia town of Dali County in the East, Weihe River in the South and Chishui town of Huaxian County across the river, Longbei town in the southwest, Gushi town in the West and northwest, jiaoxie town in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 8.5 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 8.4 km, with a total area of 39.41 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Xiaoyi town has 11 administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence population was 24335. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Xiaoyi town reached 120 million yuan, and the total industrial output value reached 150 million yuan.
Historical evolution
It is said that in the Qing Dynasty, when the mother of a family surnamed Zhao died, his son was filial and kept vigil in front of his mother's grave day and night. There was no one at home to deliver food, so he hung it around the dog's neck and sent it to him for more than a month. Since then, people called it filial son dog, so named Xiaoyi.
In Yuan Dynasty, it was subordinate to Xiaxia county.
The Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to xiaoyili, Xiawei township.
In June 1941, it was attached to Xianxiao township.
In May 1949, it was called Xiaoyi Township, subordinate to Xiaoyi District, with jurisdiction over five villages.
In September 1958, it belonged to the satellite commune.
In January 1959, it was called Xiaoyi management area, which was under the jurisdiction of Gushi commune and had seven production teams.
In May 1961, the management area was abolished as Xiaoyi commune, and in August of the same year, it was attached to the old urban area.
In April 1984, it was changed into a township with 13 villager committees and 78 villager groups.
In September 1994, it was changed into a town.
