Major events
In 1490, Chen Nayang, a native of litingtong (now Liting village, timong Township, Lingshui County), led thousands of Li people in Liting and Lingjiao to hold an uprising, which was later broken up by the army. In 1539, Chen Naren, a native of Liao Er Jiong (now tianzai Liao Er village, Yingzhou Town, Lingshui County), once again led the Li people's uprising of Liao Er, Ling Jiao, Li Ting and Lang Meng Jiong under the cooperation of Chen Nahong, Ling Jiao and Lang Meng Jiong, which shocked the Ming Dynasty. In the 20th year of Jiajing (1541), the Ming Dynasty sent the imperial censor Cai Jing, chief soldier Liu Xun, and general Cheng Jian to lead 122000 officers and soldiers to fight against the uprising volunteers such as Lang Meng and Li Ting in three ways. When Du commanded Wu Luan to lead the vanguard troops to suppress Li Ting, they were ambushed by the uprising forces, with many casualties. The uprising lasted for five years, but failed in 1544 because of the increasing number of officers and soldiers. More than 5000 Li and Han peasant troops were killed. This is an important national uprising in the history of Lingshui, which has a profound impact on the revolutionary struggle of the ethnic minorities in Lingshui.
