Nanbai township is located in the southeast hilly area of Yuanping City, adjacent to Xishe village, Hongdao Town, Dingxiang in the East, Jizhuang Township, Dingxiang County in the south, zigan Township in the West and Bijia mountain in the north. It has a total area of 68.94 square kilometers, over 28000 mu of arable land, 25 administrative villages and 7958 permanent residents (2017). Geographical coordinates: 37 ° 25 ′ n, 112 ° 12 ′ E.
In 1955, Nanbai township was changed from district system to township system. There were five townships in Nanbai, namely Nanbai Township, goubei Township, xiaxigang Township, Hewei Township and zhongyuangang township. In 1956, the townships were merged into two townships in Nanbai: Houbao Township and heshangyi township. The township government was set up in Houbao village and heshangyi village respectively. In 1958, it was merged into Jingua commune, and the commune was located in Wangdong commune. In 1961, Jingua commune was divided into three communes, Nanbai people's commune was established. The commune was located in xiananbai village, which lasted for 23 years. In 1984, the township system was restored, and Nanbai commune was renamed Nanbai Township People's government. In 2001, the township was withdrawn and merged, and Nanbai was still a single Township, and the township government was still located in xiananbai village.
There are mountains, slopes, gullies and hills in Nanbai Township, with an average altitude of 1090 meters. The highest peak is the high Jianshan mountain, with an altitude of more than 1500 meters. Now it is also one of the famous fruit and dried fruit production areas in Yuanping, with an annual output of 715880 kg. In recent years, under the leadership of the township party committee and the government, the agricultural structure has been adjusted. Through the improvement and transformation of the old varieties of jujube, the high-quality jujube Junzao and Lizao have been introduced from the jujube Research Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences to vigorously develop the jujube strategy. Jujube industry will develop into a new leading industry in Nanbai township. the township has 23769 mu of arable land, including 1630 mu of irrigated land and 22139 mu of dry land, mainly planting corn, millet, beans and other small grains. The total forestland area of the township is 25119 mu, including 9800 mu of dry fruit forest, 12359 mu of fruit garden land, 360 mu of open forest land, 2600 mu of shrub forest land and 24600 mu of suitable forest land, with forest coverage rate of 24.9% and forest greening rate of 22.4%. there is no substation in the jurisdiction, which is subordinate to Dongshe substation (110kV), with 524 transmission lines and 31.7km of Nanbai line.

Historical evolution
After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese war in 1937, it belonged to Dongjia County under the jurisdiction of the six special departments of Shanxi and Suizhou. Gaojianshan [commonly known as Daxishan] has traces of mining in ancient times, and it was also mined a few years ago. There are limestone, magnesium, iron and other mineral resources along the line of Longhushan and qilangshan bordering Jizhuang township of Dingxiang County, and magnesium ore is being mined. The main natural disasters are drought, wind and hail.

Xiaohongguo is a rare fruit in the market and a protected variety of Nanbai. Grain crops are corn, sorghum, millet, millet, beans, potato and so on. 2. Fuyuan pig farm in xiananbai village is a modern pig farm with all kinds of water, electricity and heating. At present, its scale ranks the first in the city. In 2010, the income was about 3.5 million yuan. 3. Forestry: the timber forest is mainly planted sporadically, with a total of 150000 trees, and the economic forest area is 9.1000 mu. In recent years, with the facilities of the national policy of returning farmland to forest, the whole township has returned 4910 mu of farmland, mainly with sour jujube, and a small amount of Kernel Apricot and walnut. Sour jujube can be grafted with high-quality jujube when it grows up.

There are only two organic brick factories, one manual brick factory, one lime factory and one stone factory in Nanbai township. They are all self-employed. In 2010, the output value reached 23.8 million yuan, the profits and taxes were 1.51 million yuan, and there were more than 100 employees.
