Gezhai town

Gezhai town is located in the southeast of Yichuan County, 17 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Caidian township of Ruyang County in the East, Jiuhou Township in the west, Song County in the south, Baiyuan Township in the north, and Minggao town across Yihe River in the northwest. County and township highway Shuiliang road and Ruge road meet here. The town has a total area of 76 square kilometers, 40600 mu of arable land, 19 administrative villages, 39 natural villages and 37000 people. The terrain is high in the South and low in the north, most of which are shallow hills. The Shayuan river flows through the township from south to north, and the luhundong main canal runs through the whole territory. It is a provincial pollution-free agricultural product base and the seventh batch of advanced fitness activities for hundreds of millions of farmers in China. It has won various honors such as "Jinbei township of county and township highway maintenance in Luoyang City, advanced unit of Party Construction in Yichuan County, advanced unit of petition work in Yichuan County".

Evolution of organizational system

According to the records of Songxian County, gezhai village was named after the tomb of general Ge in the west of the village. It was originally named gejiazhai, and later referred to as gezhai. In January 1948, the people's democratic government of Yichuan County was established in huangrong village. In 1958, gezhai people's commune was established. In 1959, Baiyuan commune was set up in the north. In 1962, most of the southwest was separated to establish the drunken people's commune. In December 1983, gezhai township was changed and gezhai town was established in 2018.

Gezhai town is located in the southeast of Yichuan County, the terrain is high in the South and low in the north, most of which are hills. There are small flat rivers along the Yi River in the northwest, shallow mountains in the southeast, and Shayuan river runs through the whole area from south to north.

Mineral resources

Gezhai township is rich in underground mineral resources. According to the survey of the Geological Department of Henan Province, the reserves of phosphate rock in Shiti reach 17 million tons, and the phosphorus content is more than 22%, up to 30%. The ore body is 1600 m long and 0.85 m to 8 m thick, with large reserves and high content, ranking second to none in Henan Province and the largest proved reserves in North China. Liangshui spring is located in front of Xiangu temple on the west side of Guishan mountain in the south of Yanjian village. The spring water is clear, warm in winter and cool in summer. The water is sweet and contains more than 20 trace elements such as strontium, metasilicic acid, zinc and manganese, which are necessary for human body. It is a high-quality mineral water to be developed.

famous scenery

In history, gezhai has beautiful mountains and rivers, charming scenery, rich cultural heritage, and many scenic spots and cultural legends. It is said that there are eight beautiful sceneries in gezhai village. They are: early spring in Baita, cool summer in dilapidated buildings, autumn in Nantian, winter in Cuixi, moon in Xiangquan, sweet water, golden head in tomb, autumn in Yihe, etc. Now the more famous places of interest are Shanghuang ancient spring, bianque temple, Juxian temple, Liangshui spring and Dongbin cave.
