Qiaotou town, belonging to Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the middle of Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, adjacent to Zhongyi Township in the East, Sanhe Town in the south, Longsha Town, Yuelai town and Sanyi Township in the northwest. It is 27km away from Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County Government, with a total area of 66.7km2.
In 1667, Qiaotou town was under the jurisdiction of twelve a in anrenli, Fengdu County; in December 2009, it was changed from Qiaotou township to Qiaotou town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Qiaotou town was 12580. As of June 2020, Qiaotou town has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages, and the people's Government of Qiaotou town is located in Malu temple, Malu village.

History of construction
Qing Kangxi six years (1667), belong to Fengdu County anrenli 12 Jia. In 1910, Yishun field was set up in Qiaotou dam field.
In 1930, Qiaotou town was established. In April of 1942, it was transferred to shilao county and changed to Qiaotou township.
In September 1958, Qiaotou township was changed into Qiaotou commune.
In November 1983, Qiaotou commune was changed into Qiaotou township.
In December 2009, Qiaotou township was changed from township to town.
