Chencun Town, subordinate to Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the north of Shunde District, with a total area of 50.7 square kilometers. In 2019, Chen Cun town had 214 thousand and 300 permanent residents, 99 thousand and 700 registered residence, 7 administrative villages and 8 communities.

Chencun Town, together with Shilong Town in Guangzhou, Foshan and Dongguan, was once known as the "four famous towns in Guangdong". It is the main commercial center in the Pearl River Delta and the main financial and grain market in the suburbs of Guangzhou. It is known as "Chencun Gubu". It is also known as "the first flower Town in China" for its abundant flowers. In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed. In 2019, it was ranked as one of the National Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength. Historical evolution

In Ming and Qing Dynasties, Chen Village belonged to Longjin fort, Ganxi fort, Dengzhou fort and Longtou fort.

Qing Guangxu 34 years (1908), is the third district.

In 1947, it belonged to the fourth district.

After the founding of new China, it belongs to Chencun district and Xianyong district.

In 1958, it was called Chencun Township and Xianyong township.

Chen Village People's commune was established in 1958. Since then, it has been adjusted until the formal establishment of Chencun town in 1987.

Geographical context

Chencun town is located in the alluvial plain of the Pearl River Delta and near the Tropic of cancer. It is 14 kilometers north of the residence of Shunde municipal government, adjacent to Zhongcun town of Panyu city in the East and Pingzhou town of Nanhai City in the north, with a total area of 50.7 square kilometers.

Chencun town has a subtropical monsoon climate, with no severe heat in summer and no severe cold in winter. The annual average temperature is 21.9 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1982.7mm, and the average relative humidity is 77%.

hydrology

Dongping waterway: located in the north of Chencun, it is the boundary river between Chencun town and Nanhai District, starting from the west end of Dengzhou to the Xilong of linyue in Nanhai. The total length is 5.38 km and the average width is 95 M. After dredging, it has become a waterway for inland navigation in Guangzhou to go through the ports of the Northwest River.

Tanzhou waterway: located in the south of Chencun, it starts from the West Sea between dengzhoutou and Beijiao Town, and is half of the boundary river between Chencun town and Beijiao town. The total length is 16.75 km and the average width is 250 M.

Chencunyong: located in the southeast of Chencun, it starts from jinzisha to sifangmo in LECHU and takes over Chencun waterway, with a total length of 6.8km and an average width of more than 120m.

Chencun waterway: located in the east of Chencun, it starts from Nanhai Nanshe to Xihai, and the middle section is the boundary river between LECHU and Zhongcun town in Panyu. It is the main waterway of Guangzhou inland river ships passing through Shunde, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Sanbu and other ports of the Northwest River. The total length is 11.9 km and the average width is 230 meters. Hengjiangtou flood diversion channel (Wenhai River) starts from hengjiangtou sluice of Tanzhou channel to jiaochencun waterway of liananwei sluice of LECHU, with a total length of 9.6 km.

It is only 5km away from Guangzhou south railway station, 45 minutes' drive to Guangzhou new airport, 20km away from Nansha port and Shunde Port, 8km away from Foshan port, 10km away from Beijiao port, 28km away from Rongqi port and 10km away from Sanshan Port. Chencun town government has fully started the rapid reconstruction project of Fochen Road, realizing that there is no traffic light in the whole process of Fochen road. After reconstruction, it takes only 8 minutes to drive from Chencun to Chancheng. The planned Guangming expressway, Foshan first ring South extension line, Foshan light rail line 2 and other major transportation facilities pass through Chencun. The fo Chen highway and Wendeng Avenue in Chencun town are connected with Guangzhou south railway station.
