Shangwang town
Shangwang town belongs to Pucheng County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the northeast of Pucheng County, it borders Luobin town in the East, Chunlin town in the south, Qiaoling town in the West and Hanjing town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 15.7 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 8.5 kilometers, with a total area of 70.2 square kilometers.
As of October 2014, Shangwang town has 15 administrative villages. In 2011, Shangwang town had a total population of 22100, with a total agricultural output value of 150 million yuan and a total industrial output value of 120 million yuan.
On June 28, 2015, Shaanxi Province adjusted the township administrative divisions, abolished Shangwang town and Xiangcun Town, and merged Yaoshan town.
Historical evolution
It is said that the two surnames Chang and Wang were named Chang Wang Zhuang in the past. Later, the homonym became the present name.
The Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Xianxiang township.
In 1935, Wang Lianbao was set up.
In 1941, it belonged to Yaoshan Lianbao Shangwang town.
In February 1956, Shangwang township of Gaoguang district was established.
In October 1958, it was under the administration of Shangwang of Yaoshan commune.
In August 1961, Shangwang commune was established.
