Hongshan Town

Hongshan Town, subordinate to suixian County, Suizhou City, Hubei Province, is located in the southwest of suixian County, 63 kilometers away from Suizhou city. It covers an area of 477.88 square kilometers (2017) and has a population of 66459 (2017). It governs 4 communities and 29 administrative villages. The town government is stationed in Hongshan. The provincial road, Si (Zhuang) Sha (SHI) highway and Sui (Zhou) Yi (Cheng) highway run through the town in a "cross" shape. Historical evolution

Hongshan Town has a long history and splendid culture. It was established in 1793. It is a famous old revolutionary base area. In 1947, Liu Deng's army marched into Dabie Mountain. The Party committee of Jianghan District, the headquarters of the military region, Jianghan daily, Jianghan administrative office and Hongshan prefectural committee were all stationed in Hongshan. From 1947 to 1955, it was the seat of the CPC Hongshan County Committee and the people's Government of Hongshan county. In 2005, Shuanghe town was abolished, and the administrative area of Shuanghe town was put under the jurisdiction of Hongshan Town. In 2006, the investment task of Hongshan Town was 20 million yuan, with 39 million yuan actually in place, accounting for 180% of the annual task.
