Historical evolution
During the Hongwu Period of Ming Dynasty, Zhou Dexing, the Marquis of Jiangxia, defended the coastal areas and built Jinmen City to resist Japanese pirates. In the nineteen years (Kangxi) of Qing Dynasty, the chief soldier Chen Long moved to the post Pu, and the military and economic center of Jinmen was gradually transferred, including the General Military Department of Jinmen town and the Town God's Temple Academy of classical learning. Local officials and squire also contributed to the construction of the seawall, Town God's Temple, Kui Ge and so on. The local economy also flourished, forming the main area of today's urban area.
In 1949, before the KMT troops entered Zhupu Town, Jinmen County, Fujian Province, they went to qianpanshan in the East, Dongkeng in the north, Hailin in the West and Xiguo mountain in Houhu in the south. After the battle of Jinmen (the battle of guningtou), they set up the "urban and rural district office" under the jurisdiction of the second Civil Affairs Department of Jinmen, with jurisdiction areas of four Li (East Gate, west gate, South Gate and North Gate).
In May 1950, Kinmen administrative office was established.
In February 1953, local autonomy was implemented, and the mayor of the town was elected and renamed Jincheng town.
In July 1956, because of the implementation of military and political command in the battlefield, the "Fujian provincial government" of Taiwan authorities was virtually hierarchical and moved to Xindian City, Taipei County, Taiwan Province.
In September 1965, Jinshan Township (except that Dongzhou was merged into Jinning township) was reorganized into five administrative villages, including yujinshui, Gucheng, Zhusha, Fuhu and Xianan, which were originally under the jurisdiction of Dongmen, Nanmen, Ximen and Beimen, including nine administrative villages.
In February 1974, the village under its jurisdiction was simplified, and the village of Bihu was abolished. The original jurisdiction of Houhu and shangxiahouyu was merged into Banglin village of Jinning Township, and Sihu was merged into Zhusha village, which was reduced to the existing eight li of Dongmen, Ximen, Nanmen, Beimen, Xianan, Jinshui, Gucheng and Zhusha.
On November 7, 1992, the government affairs in the field were terminated in the Jinma region. The organizational rules of township offices were formulated in accordance with Article 34 of the outline of local autonomy.
On January 15, 1996, Fujian provincial government moved back to Jinmen (Jincheng town) to work.
