It has jurisdiction over three communities of Longji, Xiaoguan and Yang village, nine administrative villages of Jiqiao, Jinbu, beidang, Hubian, Guanghua, Erli, Yihu, Qiaonan and Lianhe, and 312 Village (residential) groups. The town government is located in Yangcun community. There are Yihu, yangcunhe and qiaotian reservoirs. Provincial Highway 205 passes through Tianchang Tongcheng highway.

Historical evolution

Yangcun has a long history. It was the twelve capitals of Tianchang County in Ming Dynasty. In 1932, it belonged to five districts (the district government was in Tongcheng Town). In the spring of 1941, Tongcheng district was withdrawn as a city, and Yangcun district was set up, which was one of the seven districts of Tianchang at that time. In 1943, when the Tiangao office was established, Yang village was called Yiyang District, with jurisdiction over Xiaoguan, Longji, Gaotang and other townships. In 1946, the Communist Party withdrew from the north and the Kuomintang ruled the village. The village was divided into three townships: Yangji, Jixiao and Longbu. The next year, it was merged into two townships: Yangcun and Jiqiao. In January 1949, Tianchang was liberated. Yiyang district and Huqiao district were merged into Yangcun District, which has jurisdiction over 11 townships including Yangcun, Pudong, Xiaoguan, dakuang, Jiqiao, Gaotang, Bunan, Puxi, Guozhang, Jinlong, Yihu, etc. In 1950, it belonged to Tongcheng district (Jiqiao, Jinlong, Bunan, Xiaoguan, fishery) and Chengguan District (Yihu, Yangcun). In February 1957, the district was withdrawn to Yangcun Township, Longji Township, Longxi Township and Shuishang township. Yangcun commune was established in May 1958, and it belonged to Chengguan District in 1981. In 1983, it was changed to Yangcun Township, and in 1989, it was changed from township to town, still belonging to Chengguan District. In March 1992, qiaotian township was merged into Yangcun Town, and qiaotian office was established in July (qiaotian was merged into Tongcheng Town in 2002). In 1980, a large number of tombs of the Han and Tang Dynasties were unearthed in Yangcun, which were listed as key cultural relics protection units. During the song and Ming Dynasties, merchants gathered here, and the prosperity of popularity was followed by the rise of the spirit of the earth, which attracted the special attention of the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the Qing Dynasty, this place set up checkpoints to control illegal merchants and resist the invasion of foreign opium. During the Anti Japanese War, general Luo Binghui and other revolutionary ancestors stationed troops here to fight, which shocked the enemy. The back camp of Yang village developed into the backbone of the Anti Japanese war in East Anhui and integrated into the revolutionary iron current. It's a fertile land. It's a land of heroes. Wang Zhenyi, a famous female scientist in the Qing Dynasty, Dai Lanfen, the number one scholar in East Anhui, Zhou Meisheng, the most famous needle in China, and Miao Wenwei, a "Chinese peasant writer" named by Chairman Mao Zedong, are all from Yang village.
