It is a town under the jurisdiction of Milin County, Linzhi City, Tibet Autonomous Region. It has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages, including Wolong village, benzong village and ricun village.

Located in the westernmost of Milin County, Linzhi City, Tibet, it is adjacent to Lilong Township in the East and south.

Located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, 69 km from the county seat, 55 km from east to west, the average altitude of the town government is 3050 meters.

Wolong District was established in September 1959. in October 1987, the township was changed from the original Wolong six small townships to the Wolong township. In 1996, it covers an area of about 2000 square kilometers and has a population of 2000. It governs 23 administrative villages, namely Zhongtang, dadenka, alatang, RI, Gangjiang, Jiage, Zha, Jiangzhong, Rixu, zimeizhuoga, nujue, dangaxiajue, Jiari, Xian, benzongpulong, gatang, Wolong Xiajue, gajia, Wolong, Mai, Zhenmai and sangbai. In January 2000, Wolong township was changed into Wolong Town. In 2005, the sown area of grain and oil in the town was 5085.21 mu; the total grain yield was more than 1 million kg; the grain yield per mu was 234 kg; the per capita grain yield was 382.5 kg; the rape yield per mu was 115.5 kg; there were 20191 livestock in stock and 2028 livestock out of stock. The per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen is 3899.1 yuan, of which the cash income is 2862.6 yuan.

Infrastructure construction

S306 highway passes through the border. in 2016, the construction project of high-quality highland barley production base in Milin county was completed and accepted in Mai Village, Rixu village and danga village of Wolong Town, including the improvement of guest soil, land leveling and the construction of tractor road, with a total investment of 1.7759 million yuan.
