Yaofeng town

Yaofeng Town, Xiaxian County, has 55 administrative villages and 139 natural villages, with 87102 permanent residents (in 2017), more than 60000 mu of cultivated land and 197.4 square kilometers of land area.

Yaofeng town is located in the impact sector of the southern foot of Zhongtiao Mountain, adjacent to Sijiao town in the East, Yuwang Township in the west, Peijie town in the south, nandali Township and Weiguo Township in the north. Yaofeng town is the seat of the county Party committee and the county government. The county Party committee and the county government and their functional departments are stationed in the area. There are industrial, commercial, transportation, construction, service enterprises and cultural, educational and scientific research institutions of provincial, municipal and County businesses. The famous Xiaxian hot spring sanatorium is built in the south of nanshandi village.

There are seven rivers (Baisha River, Hongsha River, Liyu River, Sier River, Tonglai River, yuangou River and Chiyu River) in Yaofeng Town, with a length of 46.5 km. In the upper reaches of Hongsha River and Chiyu River, there are small reservoirs with a total capacity of 1.54 million cubic meters. Yaofeng town was established by Chengguan Town, Guodao Township and Damiao Township when it was merged in 2001. the town government is located at No.14, Xinjian South Road, Xiaxian county. It is located at the political, economic and cultural center of Xiaxian county. The provincial highway Taisan passes through the area, and the traffic conditions are very convenient. The town is divided into mountain area and Pingchuan area. Yaotai mountain scenic spot and Xiaxian hot spring sanatorium, which are located 5 miles east of the county, have become the best scenic spots for tourists inside and outside the province. Construction and development

Yaofeng town has convenient transportation, with provincial road Taisan Road (Taiyuan Sanmenxia), county road Xiaqi Road (county qijiahe) and Xiahou Road (Xiaxian City Wenxi Hougong) running through the whole town from east to west. Around the county seat and the three main streets in the East, South and North are the prime locations for factories and shops, which have broad prospects for development. In line with the guiding ideology of "building roads, paving oil roads, enriching roads, and striving for a well-off life", all the 37 administrative villages at the foot of the mountain have achieved the hardening of oil roads, cement roads and roadways, and 80% of the 17 administrative villages at the top of the mountain have been connected with oil roads.
