In December 1981, Chengguan commune was renamed Chengguan town. In February 1984, it was renamed Lingcheng town. In June 2010, Lingcheng town was abolished and Linqi street was set up. As of June 2020, Linqi street has jurisdiction over 4 communities and 146 administrative villages.
