Sangyuan Town, belonging to Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Huailai County, bordering Guanting town in the East, sunzhuangzi Township in the south, Fanshan town in Zhuolu County in the west, dahuangzhuang town in the northwest and Shacheng town in the north, with a total area of 121.33 square kilometers.
During the period of the Republic of China, sangyuan town was set up, which belonged to six districts of Huailai County; in December 1949, it belonged to six districts of Huailai County; in October 1997, it was changed from sangyuan township to sangyuan town. During the period of the Republic of China, sangyuan town was set up, belonging to six districts of Huailai County.
In December 1949, it was the Sixth District of Huailai County.
In July 1953, the district was removed and the township was established.
In August 1958, it belonged to Guanting commune.
In June 1961, sangyuan commune was established.
In May 1984, sangyuan commune was changed into sangyuan township.
In March 1996, ligunying Township and dongnuanquan Township were merged into sangyuan township.
In October 1997, it was changed from sangyuan township to sangyuan town.
