Gaosha town is located in the east of Shaxian County, Fujian Province, adjacent to the Bank of Shaxi River, 15 kilometers away from the county, with a total area of 160.8 square kilometers. Historical evolution

Gaosha commune was established in 1958, township was changed in 1984, and town was changed in 1993.
