Jiulong Town is under the jurisdiction of Hailing District, Taizhou city. Historical evolution

The origin of place names

Jiulong Town gets its name from folklore. It is said that when chuguan was young, he chose a cemetery for his parents. Chuguan's uncle traveled all over Hailing city and found nine dragons lying on the ground beside today's Jiulong bridge, which is called "real dragon treasure land". Chuguan buried his parents here at the command of his uncle. Later, chuguan became famous at one stroke. He was an official of the Ministry of Li in Nanjing and was buried here after his death. Later, people called this place nearby "Kowloon".

History of construction

In 1949, the hometown of Jiulong was Zhuangyao Township and Wuquan Township, belonging to Taixi district.

In 1957, the hometown of Jiulong was changed to Yangqiao Township and Jiulong township.

In September 1958, Yangqiao Township and Jiulong Township were merged and changed into Yangqiao people's commune.

In April 1960, Yangqiao people's commune was renamed Taixi people's commune.

In 1964, the two countries were divided, and Taixi people's commune was under the jurisdiction of Taixian county.

In 1983, it was renamed Taixi township.

In 1988, with the approval of the State Council, Taixi township was put under the jurisdiction of Taizhou city.

On September 28, 1994, Taixi township was replaced by Jiulong Town.
