Huoshui Xiang is located in the Northwest Mountainous Area of Wu'an city, Hebei Province. With an area of 209.9 square kilometers and a permanent population of 23370 (in 2017), it has jurisdiction over 36 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In 1953, the water town was built and the commune was changed in 1958. When Wu'an county changed its mining area to Shexian County, it was transferred to Wu'an mining area in 1960 and restored to township in 1984. In 1996, Miaoshang, yangjuan and madiantou were merged. In 1997, it covered an area of 224 square kilometers and had a population of 22000.
