Songgu township is located in the suburb of Jiexiu City, with flat terrain, fertile land and convenient transportation. It has always been the military training center of Jiexiu City, covering an area of 39.7 square kilometers. It has 14 administrative villages, 32146 mu of arable land and 38250 people. It is a suburban township integrating grain and vegetable, animal husbandry, three industry services and industrial production. The total greening area of the township is 5600 mu, accounting for 15% of the total area. It is planned to realize ecological greening in three years. A total of 8 villages in the township have established breeding communities, with 368 large-scale breeding households. The number of pigs, chickens and cattle is 7200, 42000 and 398 respectively. Industrial production mainly focuses on leading products and some short, flat and fast projects. The production situation of Jinchang, Juxing, Jingtian and other large-scale enterprises is gratifying. New industries such as Feixiang tar, Tongxin petrochemical and Mengda carbon have broad prospects. There are more than 2500 people engaged in industrial production in the township.
