In 2008, it has been changed to Longchi street, named after Longchi Lake in its jurisdiction, which is a combination of the original Longchi and Xinji. Xinji Town was founded in Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, and was called yongchengji in ancient times. It has a history of more than 600 years. It is located in the north suburb of Nanjing, at the southwest end of Liuhe District. It faces Pukou District across Macha River in the south, Laian district across Chuhe River in the west, Liuhe economic development zone and yuandachang District in the southeast, surrounded by Macha River and Chuhe River in the south, West and North. With a total area of 83 square kilometers, the town governs 9 village committees and 2 community neighborhood committees, with a total population of 42000. Key projects such as Ning Qi railway, Ning Huai expressway, Ning Beng expressway, West to east gas transmission, oil pipeline and Jiangbei 500 kV substation pass through the town. Xinji has the advantages of being close to the main urban area in the south of the Yangtze River, being close to the key parks, having complete transportation modes such as highway, railway, waterway and pipeline transportation, being surrounded by water on three sides and forest on one side. It has a considerable amount of cultivated land of more than 60000 Mu and water surface of more than 30000 mu, and rich human and land resources. Special agricultural and sideline products are: watermelon, hanging embryo duck, stewed beef, grape, strawberry, etc. In 2006, it was rated as the provincial level Ping'an Township, the municipal level "advanced collective of population and family planning during the 10th Five Year Plan" and the "copper cup of farmers' income increase" in the city.

Development overview

In 2006, adhering to the principle of enriching the people and strengthening the town, taking the scientific outlook on development as the guidance, we achieved steady economic and social development. Focus on the development of scale agriculture, brand agriculture and characteristic agriculture. 10 enterprises including Nanjing Star Auto Parts Co., Ltd., Nanjing ward packaging container Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Haosheng steel structure manufacturing Co., Ltd. were introduced, with an investment scale of 400 million yuan. Zhejiang merchants have invested 1.6 million yuan to build a group of agricultural characteristic industrial bases with market competitiveness and high economic benefits, such as 20 hectares of gift watermelon, 40 hectares of new and excellent fruit planting and Great Wall forest park. We will actively implement the 200 hectare green afforestation project on Ning Lian and Ning Luo expressways. The main roads in the town such as Gexin line (Getang Street Xinji Town) and Maotou line (maoxu Xinji Town Touqiao in Liuhe Development Zone) will be restored. Nine standardized community health service stations have been built. In the whole year, 220 new jobs were created, and 30 people were reemployed; the rural social endowment insurance expanded, and the collection and payment of endowment insurance increased, with 200 new types of insured people, totaling more than 9000; 25100 people participated in the new cooperative medical insurance, and the farmers' participation rate reached 94%; and the family planning rate was 99% through the promotion of family planning villager autonomy and newborn intervention project.
