Gaocun township is under the jurisdiction of Houma City, Shanxi Province, located in the western suburb of Houma City.

Gaocun township is adjacent to Xintian Township in the East, Xinjiang county in Yuncheng County in the west, Xinjiang county across Fenhe River in the north, Shangma office across Huihe River in the South and Houma railway station in the East. The total area of the township is 30.1 square kilometers, with 1310 hectares of cultivated land, including 446.7 hectares of irrigated land and 1.13 mu of cultivated land per capita. The township has 10 administrative villages. There are 4006 households in the township, with a total population of 17258, including 9018 labors. It was established in 1953. In 2002, before the reform of the municipal administrative structure, there were seven stations and eight institutes dispatched by the Party committee office, the administrative office, the trade union, the Youth League, the comprehensive management office, the women's Federation, the science and Technology Commission, the Ministry of armed forces and the municipal bureaus. Hou Xi railway and Dayun Expressway cross here; 108 National Highway and Dayun Expressway connecting line pass through the center of the township, and Houma import and export of Dayun Expressway is built 1 km west of the township government; Xihe railway station is in the territory; city ring highway connects the township with 10 villages around the township. there are 1 middle school, 10 primary schools, 1 private school and 3 kindergartens; 1 health center, 18 rural health centers, including 10 collective health centers and 8 individual health centers; there are credit cooperatives, Gaocun central school, telecommunication station, power supply station, grain station, police station and other Township organs and institutions. Shanxi Huatong Copper Co., Ltd. was established in the west of Jueqi village. There is a natural gas station in the south of Donggao village. Gaocun township has Huihe River in the South and Fenhe River in the north. The land is flat and fertile. It is the main agricultural production area. It is mainly planted with wheat, corn, cotton, oil sunflower and other crops, and apple, peach, jujube and other economic trees; leading enterprises with agricultural products as the main raw materials, Rex Rabbit, live pig and so on are rising; Jinliang Rabbit Industry Co., Ltd. is built in the west of Zhangwang Village, Gaocun grain station pig farm is built in Donggao village, Yongfeng Mushroom Industry Co., Ltd. is built in the north of Huiqi village, and so on.
