Banqiao Town
Banqiao Town, under the jurisdiction of Linze County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Linze County, bordering Jing'an township of Ganzhou District in the East, facing YA'NAN town across the Heihe River in the south, Pingchuan town in the west, and Alxa Right Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the North. It covers an area of 1059.68 square kilometers. In 2018, 17559 people registered residence in Banqiao Town.
In August 1950, the original Banqiao township was set as the Fifth District (Banqiao District), with mingshabu as the first Township, pingyibao as the second township, banqiaobao as the third Township, Xiwan as the fourth Township, liushubao as the fifth Township and Huangjiabao as the sixth township. In December 1961, Linze County was restored and Banqiao commune was set up. In 1983, Banqiao commune was transformed into a township. In August 2002, the township was removed to build a town. As of June 2020, Banqiao Town has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Banqiao Town is stationed in Banqiao Village.
In 2018, Banqiao Town has 44 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
During the Zhou and Qin Dynasties, he was a nomad of the Yue family.
In the sixth year of Yuanding in the Western Han Dynasty (111 BC), Zhaowu county was set up and ruled in Banqiao ancient city.
In the second year of Guangde of Tang Dynasty (764), Tubo ruled Ganzhou, and Banqiao belonged to Tubo.
Xiantong thirteen years (872), Uighur under Ganzhou, Banqiao is Uighur.
In the sixth year of Tiansheng in the Northern Song Dynasty (1028), Ganzhou was chosen in the Xixia, and Banqiao belonged to the Xixia.

In 1372, Banqiao and Mingsha belonged to Ganzhou guards and liushubao to Ganzhou avant-garde.
In 1650, Banqiao Fort belonged to Ganzhou right back.
In the third year of Yongzheng (1725), Zhangye county was under the jurisdiction of the government.

In December 1961, Linze County was restored and Banqiao commune was set up.
In 1983, Banqiao commune was transformed into a township.
In August 2002, the township was removed to build a town.
