Linhuai town

Linhuai town belongs to Sihong County, Jiangsu Province. It is located on the West Bank of Hongze Lake and southeast of Sihong County, Jiangsu Province. It stretches into Hongze Lake like a peninsula. It is known as "the first township in Northern Jiangsu". It is named as "the hometown of crabs in China" by the State Council. Linhuai township was established in 1949. In 1956, it was transferred to Hongze County, and then changed into a commune. In 1983, the township was restored. Sihong County was restored in 1985 and established in 1993. In 1996, it covers an area of 21 square kilometers and has a population of 16000. It governs 15 administrative villages, including linhuai, Xiaojie, Erhe, Lihe, biannan, Xuwei, piantai, Tuanjie, Shengli, bianhekou, Hongsheng, Liutai, shuanghuai, linhuai breeding farm and science and technology village.
