Donglongshan site
Donglongshan site is located in the southeast of Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, on the terrace on the North Bank of Danjiang River, with an area of about 300000 square meters and a cultural layer thickness of 0.5-1 meter. It is a relic of Yangshao culture and the late Neolithic age.
In the upper layer of the site, the Han Dynasty rope pattern tiles were also found. In the 1980s, a Han Dynasty bronze hoard was exposed, and three pieces of bronze francs and tripods were unearthed. Among them, francium is 15.4 cm high and its peak is 15.6 cm high. It has revealed an area of 1500 square meters. It has found 15 house sites, 221 ash pits and 75 tombs. It has unearthed a number of stone, bone, jade, pottery and bronze artifacts from the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties. It has determined the stages of Xia and Shang, and Shang and Zhou respectively. What's more, more than 40 tombs of the early Xia Dynasty were found in the excavation of the upper part of the site. The unearthed objects showed strong regional characteristics, which filled the gap between Longshan culture and Erlitou culture in Archaeology and was named as a new cultural type - donglongshan culture. This discovery can also provide valuable information for the origin of the ancient Shang state and the activities of the ancestors of the Shang people.
On May 25, 2006, donglongshan site was listed as the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
