In 2018, Fuhai Town had an area of 40.6 square kilometers and 20599 registered residence.
In 1950, Fuhai Town was directly under the township; in 1958, it belonged to Dongfeng commune; in 1972, it was established as Fuhai Town. In October 2019, Fuhai Town has 6 neighborhood committees and 2 communities.
