Chahanwusu Mongolian Township, belonging to Zhaosu County, Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Zhaosu County, adjacent to Kalasu Township in the East, Wensu County in Aksu area across Tianshan Mountain in the south, XIATE Township and 75 regiment of the fourth agricultural division in the west, and 76 regiment of the fourth agricultural division across Tekes River in the north. The total administrative area is 420.29 square kilometers.
In 1954, Chahanwusu Mongolian Autonomous Region was established; in 1984, it was changed to Chahanwusu Mongolian township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of the township of Cha Han Wusu Mongolia was 10897. In June 2020, Chahanwusu Mongolian countryside governs seven administrative villages.

In 1954, Chahanwusu Mongolian Autonomous Region was established.
