Luopu Town, belonging to Luopu County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the middle of Luopu county. On the national highway 315, it is adjacent to Duolu Township in the East, shanpulu Township in the south, qiarbage Township in the West and Hanggui Township in the north. In 2018, the area of Luopu town was 48.13 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 23910.
In October 2019, Luopu town governs 20 administrative villages.
Luopu town has 26000 mu of agricultural cultivated land, 1.1 mu per capita; 17000 mu of grassland, 43000 mu of forest land; in 2017, there were 20 enterprises with 815 employees.
Historical evolution
Before the establishment of the county, it was under the jurisdiction of Hetian Zhili Prefecture.
In 1934, it belonged to the first district.
In 1944, it was established as a cultural town.
In 1945, the city was built with four gates: donghuiningmen, nanyuexiumen, xizhenbianmen and beixuanzhengmen.
In 1947, it was renamed Huahan town.
In 1955, it was changed to Luopu town.
In 1958, red star commune was established.
In 1979, it was renamed Luopu commune.
