Tiekeqi Township, belonging to Korla City, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Korla City. In 1950, tiekeqi township was established, and it was subordinate to the Second District of Korla county with Awati, halayugong and Puhui township.

In 1956, tiekeqi Township and qiaqi Township were merged into tiekeqi township.

In 1958, it was changed into tiekeqi commune.

In 1979, tiekeqi commune was incorporated into Korla City.

In 1984, tiekeqi commune was changed into tiekeqi township.
