Guxian Township

Guxian township is located in the northeast of Qinshui County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, bordering Shizhuang town and Gaoping City in the East, Hudi Township in the south, Duanshi town in the West and Shili Township in the north, with a total area of 168.58 square kilometers, 13 administrative villages, 55 natural villages, 6938 permanent residents (2017), and 18086 mu of cultivated land. Guxian township has an important military position in history. During the Warring States period, yanzidan once stationed troops at Dongan mountain in the southwest of Guxian village when he fled to Yan from the state of Qin. In 1941, the temporary residence of Shimin county government was located in Yuanshang village of Guxian Township, where the four District Alliance grew and made outstanding contributions to the cause of national liberation.
