Guanbu town

Guanbu town is located in the northwest of Chaoyang District, Shantou City, with xiaobeishan as the barrier in the South and Rongjiang River in the north. It covers an area of 54.56 square kilometers (2017) and has a population of 112202 people (2017). It governs 43 natural villages. From 1912 to 1951, it was called the eighth District of Chaoyang County. In 1952, it was renamed the sixteenth district. In 1958, it was founded the Red Star commune. In 1968, it was renamed the Guanbu commune. In 1983, it was renamed the district and the town was founded in 1986. Located in the south bank plain of the middle reaches of Rongjiang River, it has 22.4 kilometers of Rongjiang water coastline. Flat, thick soil, abundant water. Historical evolution

In 1381 A.D. (the 14th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty), the gate was built in front of the village. In 1532 ad (the 11th year of Jiajing), Guanqian was regarded as a Polder port.
