Maolanggong Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Midong District, Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Midong District, adjacent to sandaoba town in the East, Changshanzi town in the south, Wujiaqu City in the West and 102 regiment of the Sixth Agricultural Division of Wujiaqu City in the north. The administrative area is 63.75 square kilometers.
By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of the wool town was 23202. As of October 2019, the town has 13 administrative villages.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of wool town was 130 million yuan, an increase of 26.9% over the previous year. The per capita net income of farmers is 8530 yuan. In 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises in wool town.
History of construction
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the Northwest Township of Qiande county.
In 1950, it was divided into three districts (Northwest District), which was set up by the district government.
In 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into the Northwest Township.
In 1958, 20 villages in yuanjianliang Township and sandaoba Township were divided into Jinggangshan people's commune, which was stationed in the wool factory.
In 1960, eight villages in Jianliang Township were assigned to Hongqi commune.
In 1962, sandaoba commune was established by dividing 12 villages in sandaoba township.
In 1978, it was renamed the people's commune of wool workers.
In 1984, the wool industry Township was established.
In 1995, the township was removed to build a town, which was subordinate to Miquan county.
In December 1996, it belongs to Miquan city.
In June 2007, it belongs to Midong district.
