Gumudi Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Midong District, Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Midong District, adjacent to Baiyanghe Township and Tiechanggou town in the East, Changchun middle road street in the new urban area in the south, Anningqu town in the new urban area in the west, sandaoba town and Changshanzi town in the north. The administrative area is 114 square kilometers.

History of construction
In 1762, Jihuai city was built here to guard Dihua.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Dihua Zhili Prefecture and Dihua county.
Ten years of the Republic of China (1921), belongs to Qiande county.
In 1928, it was called gumudi street.
In 1942, it was the third district of Qiande county.
In 1944, it was an ancient pastoral town.
In 1950, the ancient pastoral area was established, under the jurisdiction of 1, 2, 3, 4 townships and Dongshan nomadic township.
In 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the gumudi Township and Tiechanggou Township were established.
In 1958, Dongfeng commune was established and stationed in the ancient pasture.
In March 1960, Lucaogou Township and Jiudaowan village were assigned to Urumqi county.
In March 1963, Tiechanggou people's commune was set up by Tiechanggou, Baiyanghe and the second and third animal husbandry brigades. Up to now, the commune has 10 brigades under its jurisdiction.
In 1978, it changed its name to gumudi commune.
In 1984, Gumudi township was established.
In April 1987, it was merged with the county town of Miquan, which is called gumudi town and belongs to Miquan county.
