Shizi Township

Shizi township is located 60 kilometers southeast of the county seat, adjacent to Yuanzhou District and Longde County, with a total area of 112.37 square kilometers. It is an arid and poverty-stricken area with a total population of 15326 people (2017). The main crops are wheat, corn, potatoes, peas and so on. Xing (long) Shi (Zi) highway crosses the countryside. In 2007, the per capita net income of farmers was 2166 yuan, with 9026 cattle, 7231 sheep and 750 pigs. Animal epidemic prevention reached 100%.

Characteristic industry

The potato industry is rising steadily. The annual potato planting area is more than 50500 mu, and the standardized cultivation area is more than 11000 mu. Two thousand mu potato planting demonstration sites are established in xiezhai, Yangzhuang, Yubao and Baowei. In the case of severe drought, farmers were actively guided to plant 8 000 mu of potatoes. The township had 75 000 tons of fresh potatoes, and 850 tons of vermicelli were processed every year. The potato industry accounted for 37% of the farmers' per capita net income.

Grass and livestock industry

The quality of grass and livestock industry increased. In 2007, a total of 19000 mu of grass were planted, 2156 mu of perennial high-quality alfalfa were newly planted, and 9700 mu of high-quality alfalfa were existing in the township. Magou village is a scientific and technological cattle raising demonstration village determined by the city and county. In 2007, the per capita net income was 2320 yuan, including 1000 yuan for cattle raising. In recent years, the township started with the improvement of livestock and the continuous improvement of breeding technology, which gradually enhanced the content of breeding technology and increased the number of breeding year by year, forming a grass and livestock industry chain with magou village as the center and radiating Xindian Village, Lihai village and Yufeng village.

Labor service industry

The labor service industry is growing. In 2007, the township exported 6800 labor services, and completed 3900 guiding training throughout the year; 535 basic skills training, 501 professional qualification appraisal; the per capita net income of labor services was 800 yuan; 57 brokers were cultivated; 6 new labor service bases were opened up, with an annual labor income of 20.6 million yuan, accounting for 35% of the total income of farmers, making the township's labor industry development always in the forefront of the county.

Poverty alleviation and development

Poverty alleviation and development are progressing smoothly. In 2007, 3000 mu of machine repair farmland was completed in Yangzhuang, magou and Baobao. Self defense and Yubao villages were identified as the second batch of "whole village promotion" villages in the region. According to the situation and development needs of the villages, the township party committee and government prepared and completed the poverty alleviation plan for Yubao and Baobao villages, and put 70 hay cutters and 20 TV sets into the two villages. In accordance with the work arrangement, the designated assistance units of districts and counties went deep into the villages and actively carried out the assistance work, which effectively promoted the poverty alleviation and development work of the whole township.

Facility agriculture

Facility agriculture is progressing smoothly. 2000 arched shed demonstration sites with magou, Baobao, Yufeng, Shanzhuang, Xindian and Yupu as the main ones have been established in the township. High quality fresh vegetables are sold in spring and winter, opening up a new way for farmers to become rich and increase their income.
