Chaka town
Chaka Town, belonging to Wulan County, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, is located in the east of Wulan county and around Chaka Salt Lake. It is connected with Gonghe County of Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the East, Dulan County in the south, Tongpu town in the West and Tianjun County in the North. In 2018, the area of Cha Ka town was 1710.44 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 3801.
In October 2019, Chaka town governs one community and eight administrative villages.

Historical evolution
During the Qing Dynasty, it was the pasture of beizuolai banner in Heshuote of Qinghai Mongolian left wing League.
In 1725, the Qing government moved Xining tongduan to Chaka.
In 1915, Chaka Salt Pond set up a transportation station to handle transportation and sales.
In 1958, the tea card working committee was established under the jurisdiction of Haixi Prefecture.
In 1959, the tea card working committee was changed to the post stationed tea card in Wulan county.
In 1960, Wulan County moved to xiligou and set up Chaka district.
In September 1985, Chaka district was separated from Bayin Township and set up Chaka town.
In 2002, Bayin township was merged into Chaka town.
