Dagele Township, under the jurisdiction of Golmud City, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the east of Golmud City, with Dulan County in the East, Golmud town in the West and Qarhan Salt Lake in the north. The administrative area is 224.36 square kilometers.

History of construction
In 1958, the Nuomuhong farm reclaimed 24500 mu of wasteland and built dagele reform through labor farm.
In 1965, it was transferred to the agricultural construction division of Qingken.
In 1968, the former 12th agricultural construction division of Construction Corps of Lanzhou military region developed dagele again and changed it into dagele branch of Golmud farm.
In 1975, sanong construction division regiment was transferred to the Provincial Department of agriculture and forestry and changed into Golmud dagele farm.
In 1980, due to the transfer of youth supporting the border areas, dagele farm was canceled, and the immigrants from Longyangxia Reservoir Area in Hainan Province were resettled and dagele commune was established.
In 1982, it was under the jurisdiction of Golmud City.
In 1984, it was changed into dagele township.

History and culture
"Dagele" means "servant" in Mongolian. It is said that there was a servant under the local Mongolian prince. Because of his meritorious service to the prince, he specially rewarded livestock and settled here for grazing. Later, people called this place "dagele".
