Aruo Township
Aruo Township, belonging to Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the east of the county. It borders on Menyuan County in the East, mule town in the south, Babao town in the west, Hexi Corridor in the north, and Minle County in Gansu Province in the south. It is 22 kilometers away from the county. The area is 1205.87 square kilometers. In 2018, 3320 people registered residence.
In 1952, Alek township was built. In 1958, it was changed into Dongxu commune. In 1984, it was changed to aruo township. As of October 2019, aruo rural area has jurisdiction over three administrative villages.
In 2011, aruo township has a cultivated land area of 1200 mu, producing 25 tons of grain. Animal husbandry mainly raises white Tibetan sheep, yaks and horses. At the end of the year, there are 148000 livestock in stock, producing 1528 tons of meat. The total output value of animal husbandry is 36.068 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers is 9986.2 yuan.

The largest river in aruo township is Babao River, which flows through the territory from jingyangling to shenshuiku, with a length of 55 kilometers, a drainage area of 0.8 square kilometers, and an average annual flow of 3 cubic meters per second. The main tributaries are tianpen River, xiaobabao River, xiaodongsuo River, etc. The water reserve is about 300 million cubic meters, mainly distributed in the northern part of the territory, with annual utilization of 100 million cubic meters.

Highland barley and potato are the main food crops, producing 25 tons of grain, 7.5 kg per capita, including 14 tons of highland barley and 1 ton of potato. The main economic crops are rapeseed and so on. The planting area of oil crops is 314 Mu and the output is 28 tons. Animal husbandry is mainly for raising white Tibetan sheep, yaks and horses. At the end of the year, there are 148000 livestock in stock, including 127000 sheep, 20000 cattle and 10000 horses. It produces 1528 tons of meat, including 268 tons of beef and 1260 tons of mutton; 1055 tons of fresh milk; the total output value of animal husbandry is 36.068 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers is 99.862 million yuan.

In 2011, there was an e-qi highway passing through aruo Township, 22 kilometers away from Qilian county. There is one bus stop in Qilian County, which sends 11 long-distance passenger buses a day, with a daily passenger volume of about 352 people.
