Xianmi Township
Xianmi Township, belonging to Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the east of Menyuan County, adjacent to Zhugu Township in the East, Huzhu County in the south, Madang village and Gangou village in Dongchuan town in the west, and Sunan County in Gansu Province in the north. The area is 1564.3 square kilometers. In 2018, 6203 people registered residence.
Before 1929, it belonged to Xining county. In 1929, it was assigned to Menyuan County. In 1938, it was Xianmi township. In 1949, it was subordinate to the third district, Xianmi township. In 1952, Xianmi Tibetan Autonomous Region was established. In 1953, it was the township of longlang and Deqian in six districts. In 1956, it was changed to longlang Township, Xianmi district. In 1958, it was renamed Changfeng commune. In 1966, it was changed into Xianmi commune. In 1968, it was renamed Yonghong township. In 1969, it was restored to Xianmi commune. In 1984, it was changed to Xianmi township. As of October 2019, Xianmi village has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages.
In 2018, Xianmi township has 15 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

As of October 2019, Xianmi village has eight administrative villages, namely Dazhuang village, Dalong village, dechou village, longlang village, Meihua village, qiaotan village, talihua village and taola village.

Location context
Xianmi township is located in the east of Menyuan County, adjacent to Zhugu Township in the East, Huzhu County in the south, Madang village and Gangou village in Dongchuan town in the west, and Sunan County in Gansu Province in the north. The area is 1564.3 square kilometers.
topographic features
The north of Xianmi township is Lenglongling, and the south is Daban mountain. The terrain is high in the north and south, and low in the middle. The two mountains are close to each other, forming a canyon, commonly known as Xianmi gorge. The altitude is 2388-4949 meters, with an average altitude of 2700 meters. Above the altitude of 3200 meters, there are shrubs and meadows; above the altitude of 3000-3200 meters, there are natural woodlands; below the altitude of 3000 meters, there are scattered small agricultural areas at the bottom of the valley.
climate
Xianmi township has a mild climate with annual precipitation of 550-600mm and annual average temperature of 1.6-3 ℃. The main climatic characteristics are high altitude, low air pressure, small precipitation, large evaporation, long freezing period, short frost free period, large daily temperature difference, strong ultraviolet radiation, cold and cool climate, late spring and early autumn, short summer and long winter.
hydrology
Xianmi township is rich in water resources. The Haomen River in Xianmi gorge is a hydropower corridor for the construction of hydropower stations in Qinghai. Its tributaries include the taola River, the Dalonggou River, the zhuarigou River, the dechou River, the talihua River, the qihankaixi River and the ganningnianxi river.

In 2011, Xianmi Township had 10906 mu of arable land, 1.8 mu per capita, and 1475000 mu of usable grassland. The crops are mainly highland barley, wheat, potato, oil and forage. The planting area of grain crops is 4812.6 mu, including 2802.7 mu of wheat, 980.2 mu of highland barley and 1029.7 mu of potato; the planting area of oil crops is 3145 mu, including 1000 mu of Qingza 7 rape; the planting area of forage crops is 2638.4 mu, including 2057.9 mu of high-quality forage; the planting area of various seedlings is 310 mu. Animal husbandry is mainly for raising cattle, sheep, horses, mules, donkeys and poultry. At the end of the year, there are 89340 livestock in stock, including 19223 cattle, 69453 sheep, 589 horses, 28 mules and 47 donkeys; 1806 poultry, 1 veterinary station in 2011; the per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen is 6995.8 yuan.

At the end of 2011, Xianmi Township had 1.71 km of grade 4 sand road and 0.9 km of hardened road in garagou of Tala sanshe. The total length of the fourth grade sand road from Meihua village to Deqian village is 43.28 km. Meihua village road is 13 km long.

At the end of 2011, there were three fully boarding primary schools in Xianmi Township, namely talihua primary school, qiaotan Gongqing hope primary school and Dazhuang Central Primary School. There are 755 school-age children in primary school, with a human learning rate of 99.7%; there are 373 school-age students in junior middle school, 360 students in junior middle school, with an enrollment rate of 96.5%, a non illiteracy rate of 99.9%, and 43 teachers. There is one cultural and technical school for rural farmers and herdsmen, and eight cultural and technical schools for rural farmers and herdsmen; the education funds are about 12000 yuan.

In 2011, the new rural social endowment insurance in Xianmi Township covered 382900 yuan, with a participation rate of 90.1%. There are 523 60 year old people, with a total pension of 284720.6 yuan. There were 192 households with a minimum living standard of 514 people, and 677100 yuan of minimum living allowance was paid during the year. A total of 7.5 tons of flour, 76 bags of chemical fertilizer and 1900 kg of seed seeds were distributed to disaster affected households, low-income families and disabled families.
