Ganhetan Town, subordinate to Huangzhong District, Xining City, Qinghai Province, is located in the north of lushar County, bordering Xibao Township in the East, Handong and Dalao Township in the west, and DOPA town in the north, with an administrative area of 57 square kilometers.
By the end of 2018, the town of Gan River had 22066 registered residence population. As of October 2019, 1 communities and 18 administrative villages were under the jurisdiction of Gan Tan Town, and the government was stationed in Huang Yi village.

History of construction
In 1949, it was the Fourth District of Huangzhong County, under the jurisdiction of shuangsai Township, Dacai Township, Handong Township and Gan township.
In 1958, it successively belonged to DOPA commune, Xibao commune and Dacai commune.
In 1979, the County ranch was established, with jurisdiction over 9 villages.
In 1981, Ganhetan commune was established.
In 1984, it was renamed Ganhetan township.
In 2001, Po Township and Ganhetan Township were abolished and Ganhetan town was merged.
