Labrang town
Labrang Town, belonging to Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the urban area of Xiahe County, adjacent to Damai Township in the East, Zhayou Township in the south, Sangke Township in the West and Ganjia Township in the north. The area is 174.07 square kilometers. In 2018, 21784 people registered residence.
In 1949, it was incorporated into the first and second districts. On June 21, 1955, the first and second districts were changed to Labrang town and langgetang township. In September 1958, Labrang town was transformed into a town commune. In January 1959, the town commune was renamed Labrang commune. On December 12, 1961, Labrang commune was changed into Labrang Town, Jiujia Township and Damai township; in September 1966, it was renamed saerji town. On February 13, 1971, saerji town was changed into "Chengguan Town commune". After the reform and opening up, the commune of Chengguan town was changed into "Labrang town". In January 2004, Labrang town was merged with Jiujia Township, still known as Labrang town. In June 2020, Labrang town governs 4 communities and 2 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 12 industrial enterprises in Labrang Town, and 392 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
