Luofang town

Luofang Town, located in the northeast of Yushui District, Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province, borders Xiajiang county and Xingan County in the south, Zhangshu City in the East, Shuibei town in the north and Shuixi town in the high tech Zone in the West. It is about 19 kilometers away from Xinyu City, with a total area of 270 square kilometers, a total number of 25400 households and a total population of 81900. It has 36 village committees, one neighborhood committee and 261 natural villages.

Zhejiang Jiangxi railway and Shanghai Kunming Expressway pass through Luofang Town, while Jiangxi Guangdong Expressway passes by. With the official opening of rural bus from Xinyu to Luofang in 2009 and the completion of zhangpai highway in 2014, the half-hour economic circle from Luofang to Xinyu has been formed.

In 2018, the gross output value of Luofang town was 5.022 billion yuan, an increase of 8.4%; the fiscal revenue was 122 million yuan, an increase of 5.1%; the per capita net income of farmers was 17800 yuan, an increase of 8.5%.

Historical evolution

Luofang town got its name because it was located in luofangwei. Before liberation, it belonged to the Fourth District, with three townships of Luofang, Shuidong and Nanying.

In the process of communization, 49 high-level communes were established. In the process of communization, six townships, namely, Lianhe, Tuanjie, Banqiao, Liuhua, Heping and Dongbian, were formed.

Luofang commune was restored in 1954. It has four communes: Luofang, Banqiao, Dongbian and pengjiazhou.

In 1962, the eastern commune was renamed Luofang commune.

In 1983, Luofang township was established.

In December 1988, the township was removed and the town was built.

On November 26, 2001, Nanying township was merged into Luofang town.

At the end of 2003, Beigang Township was abolished and assigned to Luofang town; Dongbian township was abolished and some administrative areas were assigned to Luofang town.

The origin of place names

Luofang town was founded in the first year of Tianbao (968) of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is said that Luo Hanzhang and Luo Hanbin ran a tofu shop here. The business was booming and the market was prosperous. It gradually attracted all kinds of daily grocers to come here for trading and distribution. Later, it became a "busy market", hence the name of the town.

In Luofang Town, there are the former sites of Luofang conference, Xingguo investigation, the headquarters of the first front army of the Red Army, the Soviet government of Jiangxi Province, the first engineering bridge in the history of the Red Army, and the Red Army training ground. At the same time, Luofang town is the hometown of Fu Baoshi, a famous master of traditional Chinese painting, and Zhang Chunfa, a famous anti French general of the Qing Dynasty. Luofang conference Memorial Hall

Located in pengjiazhou, Luofang Town, Luofang conference memorial hall was started in October 1973 and completed in November 1976. It is a quadrangle building with national style. The Museum covers an area of 12210 square meters, including 3600 square meters of quadrangle courtyard and 1800 square meters of building area. It has six exhibition rooms, as well as reception room, rest room, reference room, library and cultural relics warehouse. There are flower beds inside and outside the museum.

Famous people

Zhang Chunfa (1843-1915), named Lanxin, was born in Duishang Zhangjia village, Luofang Town, Yushui District, Xinyu City. He was a famous general in the late Qing Dynasty. He successively served as the chief of Zuojiang Town, Guangxi, the land governor of Guangdong, the governor of Hubei, and the governor of Yunnan. By the book of feudal Wei general, Ronglu doctor, reward yunqi Wei Shi position.

Fu Baoshi (1904-1965) was born in Zhangtang village, Luofang Town, Yushui District, Xinyu City. He studied in Japan in his early years and taught in Central University after returning home. After 1949, he was a professor of Nanjing Normal University and President of Jiangsu Academy of traditional Chinese painting. In August 1960, he was elected vice chairman of China Artists Association. He was elected deputy to the third National People's Congress in September 1964.
