Pingya Tibetan Township, belonging to Wudu District, Longnan City, Gansu Province, is located in the west of Wudu District, adjacent to Liangshui town in the East, Gongba Township and qugawa Township in Zhouqu County in the south, baling Township and Shawan Town in Dangchang County in the west, Jiaogong Town, Shimen town and Liangshui town in the north, 27.1km away from Wudu City, with a total area of 87.36km2.
In 1713, the area around pingya Tibetan township was the territory of dangchangma Tusi. In December 1983, pingya Tibetan commune was changed into pingya Tibetan township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Ping Ya township was 6270. As of June 2020, pingya Tibetan countryside has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, and Township People's governments are stationed in pingya village.
The main food crops in pingya Tibetan township are wheat, corn and potato; animal husbandry is mainly for raising cattle, sheep, mules, pigs and poultry; characteristic agricultural products include pepper, highland barley wine and high-quality buckwheat flour.
History of construction
In the 52nd year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1713), it was a chieftain of dangchangma.
In 1934, it was incorporated into Shawan township of Xigu county.
In 1938, it was incorporated into the first administrative supervision district.
In 194, it was incorporated into the eighth District of administrative supervision.
In July 1950, it was pingya Township, belonging to Liangshui District of Wudu County.
In April 1954, it was incorporated into baling District of Zhouqu County.
In October 1958, it merged with baling township to form baling commune.
In October 1961, pingya commune in Zhouqu County was established from baling commune.
In June 1963, pingya commune was incorporated into Wudu County.
In March 1981, it was named pingya Tibetan commune.
In December 1983, pingya Tibetan commune was changed into pingya Tibetan township.
